Slippery Walls Now Hardened

I try to hold onto the slippery walls,
Of the hole that I dug myself into,
Screaming out in agony; pain,
Struggling to see that one spark of light,
But it’s never there.
What I see instead is the monster I’ve turned into,
A monster with sunken cheeks and empty eyes,
Who is it that I have turned into?
What is it that dragged me here? ...

An Ode to a Fallen Soldier

A few hours have passed,
the feeling hasn't faded,
when mama told me, I remember staring at her in shock,
the light faded from my eyes,
incoherent screams left my throat, accompanied with muffled sobs,
my limbs compressed into themselves,
tears flowed down my face as if you opened a floodgate,
bile rose from the depths of my stomach, threatening to spill out,
I remember hoping it was a nightmare.

The Lonely Whale
